Leviathan Book Trailer

Okay, just warning you, this is incredibly cheesy, but it'll give you the general idea.  I LOVE DERYN SHARP!!!  SHE IS AMAZING!!

Barking Spiders!

Dance Dress

I realized that I never uploaded a pic of my new dress.  Sure, I probably won't wear it to the Oireachtas like I'd hoped, but I can at least show you guys.
It's a really bad picture, because I just held up my computer to take it, and it kinda sucks.  The background is my wall where it's hanging up for now.  But, anyway, I like the dress well enough, so here it is:
~Emma the Dancing Rose Who Cannot Dance (at the moment)~

Not a Happy Camper... : (

So, October hasn't been the best month of my life so far.  As you may or may not know, I'm still a Girl Scout.  I'm in a troop with three other girls, and we have a pretty good time because we usually just hang out and go camping.
Anyway, we were at Camp Texlake the last weekend (it's thursday now) and we were having TONS of fun.  We were writing this story, but I probably shouldn't talk about that... Anyway, it was the second evening (Saturday) and we walked down to the beach part and it was really pretty and everything.  We started down cartwheels and round-offs, even though they kinda hurt our back because the sand was so stiff.  And then, I did a cartwheel, and my leg popped twice and I fell (actually, I did this cool sort of ninja roll-- it was pretty sweet!) and my knee's all messed up now.  It stinks!  See, two years ago, I did the same sort of thing to my knee playing soccer (darn PE) and I missed the chance to go to the Oireachtas, which is a fancy word for a big Irish Dance competition that's usually not in Austin.  I got past it, didn't compete, and now I'm in the same situation.  My knee isn't as bad, but the stakes are much higher.  I just bought a new dress and new shoes, and it's in Orlando, and my mom was going to take me to Harry Potter World, which is like my absolute dream!  I'm walking on a crutch (it used to be two) and I'm really worried that I won't be able to dance.  I'm getting a MRI scan on Monday, and then the next Monday (Halloween) I get the results.  I'm really scared!
I'm sure something else has happened, but I just can't think of anything.  Wait, little minor details:
--We remodeled our bathroom!  And yes, I know nobody cares!
--The eighth grade to a field trip to MAC High School, very fun...
--NJHS is holding a Halloween dance for 28th of October! (I'll still be on crutches though...)
--The orchestra played a concert at MAC last night.  It was really fun to see all the Lamar graduates... : )
--I'm learning how to play viola!  Well, I know how to, I mean I'm starting to play it at concerts instead of violin
--My room is a mess!  (Yet again.)

Well, that was random...  Oh!  I almost forgot!  YOU NEED TO READ LEVIATHAN BY SCOTT WESTERFELD!!
Oh my, it is the greatest book series ever!  The author sighed my shoes!!  YAY!!
"Midshipman Dylan Sharp, at your service!"  Read the books to understand what I'm talking about.  I'll post a picture from one of the books, so you can see the person who says that line.  She riding a Huxley. Read the books and it will make so much more sense...
I'm talking a lot, and quite quickly too.  Sorry if I'm not making any sense.  I'm just writing whatever pops into my head... Heehee. : )
Love ya!

First Week of School

So, school started last Monday (it is now a Tuesday) and here are my feelings:
asjfd;oasihfo ang;infvwejfioanejweoinjvewn-WHERE DID SUMMER GO???
Yes, those random letters expressed my, well, for lack of a better word, need-of-random-letters.
I have Science first with a really cool teacher that I had in sixth grade
Algebra second with an cool but hard teacher.  I'm kind of worried I'm going to fail this class.
English is third period, with an awesome young teacher that I love!! She loves Harry Potter, like me, and we have the same music preferences, and I just have a feeling we're going to get along very well.
Fourth I have Spanish with one of my favorite teachers.  She's strict, but really nice if you behave.
Fifth I have Speech, with I loathe.  It's really boring, but since I only have it for a semester, I can get by.
Sixth period I have History, which is a problem.  History is a boring subject for me, and sixth period is always the time my lack of sleep catches up with me.  It's also a dark classroom.  I have already fallen asleep.
And finally, orchestra is seventh period.  We have a really small class due to the graduation of the eighth graders.  We suck right now, but hopefully we can get better soon.

I auditioned for an after school choir yesterday because I couldn't take choir during the school year due to PE and Speech.  I got in!!! Yay!  I'm excited.

I'm mad that we don't have block schedule anymore, because it was easier having to only do half your homework one day and then the other half the next.  It's much more overwhelming now.

In my Irish Dance life, I have the Oireachtas coming up, which is a huge regional competition in Orlando Florida.  I'm really nervous, but I'm trying to stay focused.  I'm getting a new dress, which will most likely be bright green and pink.  If I do indeed get it, I'll post a picture.

Sorry I haven't written in a while.  With everything going on, it's been hard to focus.  Besides, maybe one or two people are reading this, so it doesn't matter.  That's good, because I wrote this really quickly.

Our Green Thumb...

Go Green!
I get weekly updates from NRDC (Natural Resources Defense Council) and I found this article online.

Actors Taking Action!

I just can't believe what people do to animals nowadays.  It's stupid.  No one person can find a solution to solve all of our problems.  We all have to work together to do our part to save the environment.  If we continue the way we do, we will soon (not in our lifetime or anything, but soon in the whole general scheme of the universe) make our world inhabitable, and not only will we destroy our own species, but we will bring thousands of other species down with us.  Check out NRDC online:

May 17th...

Just got back from Irish Dance class.  My teacher said I'm improving tremendously and I will be an excellent senior dancer someday.  Yay!!  It's Tuesday and last Friday (The 13th!!  *Spooky Music*) was my last Beauty and the Beast performance.  I was soo sad!!!  Hannah McChesney went, as well as other friends you don't know (unless you're one of them or you stalk me) as well as my choir teacher Ms. Starkey!!  She's amazing and she gave me a beautiful rose which I thank her for.  I wanted to cry during the last song of the play, because I was so said it was going to be over and I wouldn't see those guys for the entire summer!  : (  Well, now I have something to look forward to again (Strange that all the things I look forward to have to do with theater...) Tomorrow, Wednesday, the seventh grade is going on a field trip to Austin Parks (And Pizzas).  I'm excited to miss school, but of all the places we could've gone, Austin Parks???? Really?  Anyway, it's better than school.  Anyway, after the field trip, I have to stay after school till 6:00 for a Disney Darling Dress Rehearsal (I'm working backstage)  I'm excited because I want to have experience working as a techie.  Then next week the final show is taking place, and the weekend after that, I'm driving up to Kansas to get my new puppy!!! YAY!!  Right now, I just want to get the thing and stop having to prepare for it... UGH!  Hopefully school will go downhill from now.  By the way, if anyone knows a good summer job I could get as a 13-year-old, I would very much appreciate it!  I need money for theater in the fall, and, judging by how much I write about it in here, you know I love theater and it would mean so much to me!! Thanks!!

Mother's Day

Hey, today is Mother's Day!  Make sure you all show appreciation to your moms every day of the year, cuz they do so much for you.  If you ever want to do something great for them, singing them this for them wouldn't be a bad idea.  It's a very touching song, called Wind Beneath My Wings:

1st Week of May!

So today it is Saturday the 7th! I am now officially 13! I actually turned 13 on Monday, but whatever.  Today was my first Beauty and the Beast performance, and, if I might say so myself, it went beautifully!  I love my blue and white dress (the peasant dress).  It's so comfortable and I feel pretty in it. The yellow dress is really tight, but it's still very pretty.  I'm really sad that this semester is almost over.  I love the entire cast so much and I'm going to miss them a lot!  Thanks to everyone who came today.  Love you guys so much.

Updates

Today is Saturday, and I basically just laid around the house, watching kids movies on youtube and stuff like that.  I watched The Road to El Dorado, which is one of my favorites, but I'm not sure why.  Yesterday night, I watched the two most recent Glee episodes, which I really liked.  I'm really sad The Office is ending!  I cried on the last one, which was Steve Carrell's last.  : (  Boohoo!  Anyway, tomorrow I'm playing with my ACMC group (I mentioned them before, right?) at the Long Center!  I'm excited.  We're still working on the four-page hard piece, so we just have to play our easy one we've been warming up with.  Then on Monday, it's my BIRTHDAY!!! Yay! It stinks that I have to go to school though.  Afterwards, I have a tech rehearsal for Beauty and the Beast from 4:30 to 9:30, and though some people may think it stinks to have a huge rehearsal on your b-day, I don't!!!  I've been looking forward to the rehearsal so much, I keep forgetting I'm gonna be 13.  I think the play's going to be really good, but I'm really sad it's gonna end.  : (  On Monday, I get to see my dresses, which is SO COOL!!!  We also get to see the set for the first time and we have to block the last scene (we didn't block it yet because it all depends on the set).  Monday is going to be the best day of my life!! (So far, anyway)

Just Writing to Write

Nothing much has happened since I last wrote.  Above are some pictures of some cute puppies (they're welsh springer spaniels.)  I may get one of the boys!!!
The link underneath is a Subaru commercial you've probably seen, but I attached it because I really like the girl's wedding dress!

I'm gonna go now, I'm watching Seinfeld and Friends right now.  I'm trying to empty out my backpack because it is way to heavy!!!!

Video

Hey guys, sorry I haven't been on my blog for like, EVER!! Here are some videos:
The first is a youtube video some of you may've seen of a Taiwanese (NOT Korean!) kid singing "I will always love you" by Whitney Houston.  Hannah McChesnut showed it to me, a fact I wouldn't include if not for her sitting next to me saying "Write I showed you it!!!" over and over again!!!! Now she's mad
Here's the link
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1RgXC303Q5A

Now Hannah's showing me how she drooled on her leg.  Great, Hannah, great.
She doesn't want me to write this.
She says it's cuz of her new braces, but whatever.

Beauty and the Beast

OH MY GOSH!!!!! I can't believe it!!! Today is Friday, and I had theater.  We got out parts today and the whole way over I had butterflies in my stomach (for the first time).  Then we got there and after listening to the teacher's story about casting (he always gives a story.  Today it was about his wife's first production she ever did and how instead of getting Sleeping Beauty she got an ugly troll but everyone thought she was hilarious and it all worked out) he started announcing parts.  My heart was beating SO fast!! Everytime he said a name, it wasn't mine!  Finally, as the last name, he looked up at me and said "And Emma as Belle" I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT!!!!!!!! I STILL CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!  All week I had been telling myself "okay, emma there are other, more experienced girls who have a big chance of getting Belle" so I wouldn't take it too badly if i didn't get it.  I am so excited!!!  I don't even care that I have to fall in love with a guy!! Or that I have to sing an entire song by myself!!  Or that I have to practice all the time!! I have never been more excited!!! I'm sorry if I'm acting like this is a bigger deal than it is, but I just really thought I wasn't going to get it.  THANK YOU UNIVERSE!!!!!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!!!!

So, I get my part for Beauty and the Beast on Friday!!
I'm really excited, though I don't really care who I get that much!! My audition went pretty good last week. I was sick all last week, so when I heard I had to sing again, I was so incredibly nervous!!!  I told the director, Phil, that I'd been sick, and he said that I sang good last week so it was fine.  The last class we had, Phil was wearing a pink shirt, and one of the younger girls commented on it, and Phil simply replied, "It's not pink, it's salmon" in an awesome accent and we all laughed. Phil is AWESOME!!! I am wearing a pink shirt today, because it is VALENTINE'S DAY!!! Yay!! I had a heart shaped pizza and a chocolate from Lamme's for dinner.  It was delicious!! Also, guess what I did when I got home?  Instead of doing my two-page essay for language arts, I cut hearts out of spinach leaves!!! It was an awesome waste of time!  It sounds like something you would read on MLIA.  You guys HAVE to check out MLIA (www.mylifeisaverage.com) It is so funny!!  Love you guys!! Happy Valentine's Day!

Office Trailer

Hey guys, I love this fake Office trailer, and I just HAD to post it.  I am an Office FREAK! I've seen every episode probably about two times each!!!!!!
~Emma the Rose who is obsessed with the Office~

Austin Music Chamber Center

Ugh, today was just as cold as yesterday, maybe even worse!!! I hate the cold soooo much.  It's going to snow tomorrow, so maybe I won't have to go to school.  Today I had TX history, orchestra, language arts, advisory, and spanish.  It was one of the best thursdays ever (I have this eternal grudge against Thursdays...) because I didn't get any homework and I didn't have anything after school.  I'm in this quartet group in orchestra called ACMC (Austin Chamber Music __?___ (it's probably center)) with me (I play violin), Nate (violin), Nyla (cello), Alexander (viola), and Matthew (bass).  On Monday we get to go recruiting, which means we get to get out of school pretty much the whole day and go play music at different elementary schools.  The whole orchestra has done it before, along with the choir and the band, but I was sick that day and missed the second half of it.  I can't wait to go!  We're playing this piece by Mozart called Ieine Kleine or something weird like that, but it's fun.  We're also doing this story piece where our teacher tells a story and we do awesome sound effects.  You know what's weird?  Everytime I write down a song, I keep wanting to write a little bit of it in, but it's kinda impossible! Anyway, hopefully Monday will be fun.  I'll be sure to tell you how it goes!!!! BYE

My writing

I have an account on Goodreads, this really cool website of books and stuff, and I've been trying to start a story on there forever.  I just started over, and I thought it would be cool if I kept you guys up to date on my writing too. Here is the start of the first chapter of my novel The Yellow Dog.  All the inspiration comes from my own life:

My name is Amy Dawford. I live in Boston, MA and I work for a magazine company. I'm 25 years old, I live in an apartment and I'm single. But this story isn't about that. It's about my life, or how it was seventeen years ago. It starts on April 5, the day my baby brother was born. That day was important at the time, and though it fades away over the years, to me, it is my life.
I was four years old, and my life was wonderful. I was the perfect age, not too young to be fussy, but young enough to find the wonder in everyday life. My mom taught fifth grade, and my dad was a dentist. Not too amazing, but I was fascinated. We were happy, my dad, my mom and I. They loved me as much as I loved them. They were my idols; my life. My parents were young and foolish, thinking nothing would ever go wrong. We were all like that. They thought that life was theirs, and they controlled it fully. But they were wrong. They would soon learn that life is cruel and desperate, and if anything, controls you.

My First Day

Hello there!!
This is my first blog ever, and I'm not really sure what to write.  I'm really bad at keeping a journal, so I'll probably never write in this.  My friend Hannah showed me her blog, and I've always wanted one, so I decided to test it out.  I live in TX, so I'm used to hot weather and this week it was FREEZING!! It was so awful! It might snow this week, but I hate snow, at least down here, because it's either ice or slush, and it's always dirty! Anyway, the only thing good about this weather is that I didn't have dance.  I'm an irish dancer, and I've been doing it for about five years! It looks pretty, but it will WEAR YOU OUT!!! This semester I'm in a production of Beauty and the Beast.  It's in KidsActing.  It's only my second production, but I'm addicted to acting. I'll try to keep you up to date with that.  Other than dance and acting, I play violin and sing in choir.  Choir is fun, but I hate it when we don't sing and have to do these stupid music history packets!! I'm not sure if I'll do it next year.  Anyway, hope to write again soon! Rock out and don't be afraid to stick out like the elephant at the top!
